Every airport journey from the Lower North Shore crosses the harbour, which makes the timing of the run matter more than the distance. We plan departures around that rather than treating the trip as a straight line, and the fare is fixed either way — a slow crossing does not change what you pay.

The airport run
Every trip crosses the harbour.
There is no airport journey from this side that avoids the crossing, and the crossing is what decides the timing. The Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Harbour Tunnel behave differently at different hours, and either can add a quarter of an hour that has nothing to do with the distance.
We build that into the departure time rather than discovering it on the way. The fare is agreed in writing first, so a slow crossing costs you time at worst, never money.

How long does it take from the airport to North Sydney?
Around 25 to 35 minutes outside peak for the 17 kilometre trip. In the morning peak the harbour crossing is the bottleneck, and the train is often quicker because it goes underneath.
Which harbour crossing will the driver use?
Whichever is moving. Both the Harbour Bridge and the Harbour Tunnel serve the North Shore, and the sensible choice depends on the traffic at that moment.
Are tolls included in the fare?
The fare quoted before you travel is the fare. On a metered taxi tolls appear at the end; here the route is not a cost decision you have to make in the back seat.
Do you cover Mosman, Cremorne and Neutral Bay?
Yes, and an accurate street address is worth more than a landmark — the residential streets are narrow and often one-way.
What about a late-night arrival heading north?
That is one of the strongest reasons to pre-book. Once the network winds down, a train to Chatswood becomes a long wait plus a taxi from the station.
